Two hours? As in, you only gave me two hours’ notice that eight million people are going to find out that not only is my relationship over, but also my boyfriend is bisexual? A whole year of stressing about how this day would go, spiraling into different possible outcomes, each one bringing me into a stronger state of panic? A whole year of sadness and confusion and fear reduced to a two-hour warning that was completely out of my control? A whole year of hiding and pretending, hoping no one would catch on? Two hours, and my life would officially be scrambled and there was nothing I could do about it?

I wrote back, biting my tongue.
